Children's Church

This morning we taught children's church for the last day of our month in the 4 and 5-year-olds class. When we asked for prayer requests, one little guy in the second row asked for prayer for his dad. "My dad doesn't feel good". "Ohhh... is he sick?", we asked. "No", came the matter-of-fact response. "His p*nis hurts. The doctor took something off so my mom and dad can't have children anymore." At this point, all the bigger boys in the front row turn around and stare. The girls look puzzled. We choke back our laughter and barely maintain control as The Professor offers a prayer "for those not feeling well."

Prom

Well... I guess its been a while since I've added anything (of value) here.

On May 11th, I took a friend of mine to her school's prom. The prom was at The Fox Theater in downtown Atlanta, and included dinner.

Originally I was going to wear my kilt, but the school wasn't too wild about the idea, so I got a tux, as is the standard.

We had a great time - they didn't play very much Swing Dance music (which is the best kind of dancing ;), so I had to learn some of the more... shall we say "interesting"? dances.

Competitions

David has competed four times so far this year, and he continues to collect medals. We just got back from a weekend in Gatlinburg, where he competed in the solos and with the band. He got more medals, but the best part was comments he got from one high-powered judge, a judge he has never played for. On his Piobaireachd score sheet, the judge wrote, "Superb piobaireachd potential demonstrated on this performance. Musically, a strong performance."

We've been told he has the potential to achieve the top ranks, so it was nice to hear it from a judge too.

Thriting

I bought this dress at the thrift store, and only paid twelve dollars!
