Swing Dancing

Swing Dancing is a popular college activity. Tech has a large swing dance night once a month, and now KSU has Swing Nights, too. I really enjoy it, so I decided to have a private Swing Pariy at my house. It wasn't a large group, there were only four couples, but we danced all night on the patio, and had lots of fun. Some of my friends didn't leave until 2 am!

Two of my friends teach Swing dancing, so I asked them to teach us. Because of my party, two guys now swing dance! Nicole and Zeke taught us aerials, also, which were everyone's favorite moves.

Performance Art

Performnce art is art (usually sculpture) that the artist interacts with as part of the concept. For my final project in 3-D (found objects project), I created a dress from recycled materials taken from work. The bdoice is ruched plastic bags, the underskirt pleated brown packing paper, and the overskirt, or train, is plastic packing pillows filled with air. The concept was to show that one can have high fashion for little or no cost.

I utterly stunned my professor; she couldn't believe how well it turned out. I had semi-purposely kept everything in pieces, so that no one could get an idea of how it would actually look.

During our break, I wore the outfit down to the student center. I got plenty of attention! I overheard one guy say, "That's HOT!"

Global Warming

It looks like we have a serious problem with global warming. Early this week it was in the high 80's, we were into our summer clothes and we turned on our air conditioning. Then it got a bit cooler: we just returned from a brief walk and it was SNOWING!! In April. In Georgia. Nothing is sticking, but we were catching big globs as they drifted down.
