Garage Sale

Heather and I have been waiting and waiting for the weather to warm up to somewhat above freezing so that we could run a garage sale. We planned ahead and worked for several weeks to set up all our junk treasures on tables and boxes in the garage. Then we priced. And priced. And priced. And...

Yesterday (Friday) turned out to be a perfect day: warm, sunny, not too hot, not windy, not humid; perfect garage sale weather. So we opened. Jared jammed a sign in the ground at the top of the street and the customers poured in. We were soon overwhelmed by the business. I guess the masses have been starved for garage sales all winter and we happened to hit it right by being prepared. On Saturday morning we didn't get our sign out until an hour or two into the sale because we were again swamped by customers. All I did was list on Craigslist the night before. We were amazed by how effective that was.

The pictures show our sale in the late afternoon of the second day. This is just a fraction of what remains after selling huge piles of stuff. We certainly have more than enough to have at least one more sale. So the cars will have to sit out for a little while longer.
