The grill is really getting a workout this summer. (It really belongs to Heather and Jared, but we might as well use it while we store it on our patio.) I sent Greta to the market just before dinner because we were short one or two items. She came home with a bag of marshmallows as an addendum to my order. Hmmm. Is that a hint for s'mores?
Tonight's dinner on the patio: Grilled burgers and dogs German potato salad corn on the cob fruit salad and...
David and Co. treated the family to a great seafood feast Thursday evening. They have a "secret" Asian market they frequent, with very reasonable prices on seafood. After a starter of steamed mussels while the guys grilled everything else, we all dug into salmon, shrimp, shark, and trout; with rice, garlic bread, and broccoli as sides. Yum!
This morning we invited a pile of friends over for brunch on the patio to celebrate 4th of July. A brunch celebration is a bit unorthodox, but we thought we might find more friends available in the morning rather than for a cookout in the evening. It was LOTS of fun!The buffet spread in the dining room.
The kids staked out their own table.
It was quite hot on the patio, but borrowed patio umbrellas helped shade our guests.
This is the story of our family. We write mainly to keep distant family and friends informed of our daily doings, but others are welcome to read too. Because it may be quite boring to read about ordinary people doing ordinary activities, we titled it "The Snooze".
We are a family made up of a dad and mom, with three kids who are all grown and living on their own. Our two oldest are married and we have two grandchildren. They all keep Dad and Mom busy and entertained. We live in suburbia in a little white house, go to work and school, church and shopping, and celebrate family holidays every so often. Welcome to our blog.
